Swipe left and right to rotate the donut. Collect a falling wedge by spinning the matching colours to the top of the donut.
A match adds a segment of glaze to the donut. Glaze the whole donut to complete the level.
A mismatch removes 2 segments of glaze from the donut: the incorrectly matched segment and one that matches the falling segment.
You start with 3 lives. If you gain some segments, and then lose them again (so there's only one row of glaze left), you'll lose a life.
Matching 5 in a row gives you +3 points. Collect 10 streaks of 5-in-a-row to gain an extra life. Get bonus points the closer you match the colours of the falling wedge with the top of the donut.
Rainbow Donuts was created by Andy Coughlan of Manicgrin Media. One day, stood bored in a shopping centre, Andy dreamed of playing a game to pass the time. A game that would provide a bit of a challenge, but one he could control with his thumb.
Andy sighed at the lack of such a game. Just then, a ray of sunlight burst forth through a prismatic window in the glass ceiling of the mall, bathing the donut stand before him in rainbow hues. The seeds of a game fell on fertile soil.
If you like this game, let Andy know. Everyone loves a compliment now and then. He's made lots of other apps and games too. You might like Infini3, a fun match-3 meets Reversi style game.

The Rainbow Donuts soundtrack and sound effects are original to the game.
You can turn the music and effects on or off in Settings. Browsers will not start audio until you tap the screen, which is a browser rule rather than ours.

Rainbow Donuts is made by Manicgrin Media Ltd. The iOS app does not collect data. This page covers the website at rainbowdonuts.app.
Your high scores, music, sound effects, colour-blind mode, and how many games you have started are stored in your browser’s local storage. That never leaves your device unless you finish a game, in which case we may keep an anonymous record of the difficulty, score, level and duration.
We keep a simple count of page views, visits, return visits, device type, referring site, when a game starts (difficulty), and when someone taps a share button. That happens on our own server. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising cookies, or a third-party tracker.
To tell a visit from a return visit we store a hashed form of IP address and browser. We do not store the address itself, and we cannot turn the hash back into it. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we skip the count.
If the database is running, we keep anonymous completion records: difficulty, score, level reached, how many segments the donut had, and roughly how long it lasted. No name, email, or account is required.
If you send feedback from the website, we store your note, and any name or email you choose to include, so we can read it in the admin area. Email is optional and we do not send a reply automatically. We also store a hashed form of IP address to slow down spam.
We do not sell data, run ads, or build a profile of you.
A session cookie keeps the play visit together so we can count it once. Game preferences in local storage are separate, and stay on your device. We do not set analytics cookies.
